The Greens – lunatics all around the world

In our uncertain and chaotic world, it’s good to know that there are still some universal certainties. Such as that everywhere around the world the Greens are bunch of loons.

The US Green Party presidential candidate, Jill Stein (like the Australian Greens leader Richard Di Natale, a doctor) has just announced as her vice-presidential candidate Ajamu Baraka, a man she described as “activist, writer, intellectual and organizer with a powerful voice, vision, and lifelong commitment to building true political revolution.”

He is all that, and a delusional anti-Zionist to boot, but I’m repeating myself. Here’s his conclusion from a 2014 study tour of Israel:

During my activist life I have traveled to many of the counties that Western colonial/capitalist leaders characterized as despotic totalitarian states – the old Soviet Union, North Korea, Cuba before 1989 – but in none of those states did I witness the systematic mechanism of population control and scientific repression that I witness in “democratic” Israel. The security walls, towers, checkpoints, and armed settlers created an aura of insecurity and impending assault on one’s dignity at any time. I left that space wondering how anyone with a modicum of humanity and any sense of morality could reconcile living in that environment from the spoils of Palestinian dispossession and degradation and how any nation could support the Israeli political project.

Nice, isn’t it?

Jill Stein is herself Jewish, but she’s a Ajamu Baraka kind of a Jew – a self-loathing one. OK, OK, she only wants all assistance to Israel cut, and supports the campaign of Boycott, Disinvestment and Sanctions against Israel. So she’s just anti-Israel. That’s probably she has recently done some ethnic cleansing of her Twitter account and deleted a tweet praising the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel on the occasion of his passing away recently. Wiesel happened to also be a human rights activist, but unlike Ajamu Baraka, he was an unapologetic supporter of Israel’s right to exist. Paying tribute to a Zionist, how shameful. Fortunately, Dr Jill has now corrected this error. While at it, she has also edited her tweet “There’s no evidence that autism is caused by vaccines” to “I’m not aware of evidence linking autism with vaccines” to slightly soften her image with another core Greens constituency – the tinfoil hat wearers.

Good times.
