What did I miss when my blog was offline with technical issues? (It might have been Obama. He bugged me. The whole eight years he was in office.) It strikes me that the most shocking and controversial news reported – nay, blasted, commented, analysed – by the media was Kellyanne Conway kneeling on an Oval Office couch with her shoes on.
I can almost imagine a conversation within the mainstream media (whom Obama really bugged, and I mean bugged):
MSM1: [yawning] Where am I? What time is it?
The Intern: It’s 2017, Sir. I hope you had a pleasant and restful 8-year nap.
MSM2: Shut up and bring us some coffee, kid.
MSM1: Now more than ever it’s important for the media to provide accountability to those in power.
MSM2: You’re so right. Democracy dies in darkness.
MSM1: President Trump is trying to distract us with trivialities from the main story: his ties to the Kremlin.
MSM2: OMG! DID YOU SEE THIS? KELLYANNE CONWAY DIDN’T TAKE HER SHOES OFF!
MSM1: This is terrible. Welcome to our 24 hour uninterrupted coverage of the Sofagate.
MSM2: No class; Monica Lewinsky would have never put her feet on the sofa.
MSM1: By the way, did you know that Trump is a sexist pig who trivialises and objectifies women?
MSM2: Hey, did you see what Ivanka wore to the State of the Union?
MSM1: Don’t even start me!
MSM2: You know who else in history didn’t take their shoes off?
MSM1: Noooo… You mean…? That’s how dictatorships start.
MSM2: As German Pastor Martin Niemoller said “Those who urinate and kneel on furniture will soon urinate and kneel on people.”
MSM2: Hey kid, where is our fucking coffee?
The Intern: I don’t think you need coffee, Sir; you’re pretty woke as it is.
MSM1: Why do people hate us?
MSM2: Beats me.
