The “new normal” in London (UPDATED)

12:53pm: Now here is a crazy idea: maybe London police should carry firearms, you know, just in case there is crime, or terrorism?

The latest issue of the Islamic State’s weekly newspaper al-Naba released two days ago warned that another terrorist attack in Britain was “definitely coming.”

Al-Naba, a 16-page color newsletter, is distributed within ISIS territory but is also posted and distributed online via the usual ISIS mediums such as Telegram and social media.

Britain, said an article within the newsletter titled “Blessed Battle of Manchester: A new lesson for tyrants, Crusader States,” thought it “was safe from the wounds of the Mujahideen.”

“Protected by the sea they have long relied on isolating themselves” and thought “their exit from the European Union would save them.”

“A soldier from the Islamic State” in Manchester, the article continued, “has unleashed terror throughout their country, they rushed to spread the army in the cities, mobilizing police and security in the streets for fear of a new attack,” which “is inevitable, God willing.”

11:11am: The latest:

Five jihadi terrorists shouting ‘this is for Allah’ have reportedly killed seven people and left dozens more injured in a horrific rampage around two locations in central London.

The men, described as being ‘of Mediterranean origin’,¬†mowed down up to 20 people with a white van at 50mph on London Bridge on Saturday night, then began ‘randomly stabbing’ revellers with 12-inch hunting knives.

One person has been killed at London Bridge – and one of the casualties is reportedly a police officer.

The terrorists also stormed into a busy pub in the nearby Borough Market, where a man was reportedly stabbed five times in the chest. A ‘dark-skinned’ man in a red tracksuit ‘calmly’ stabbed a man three times, a witness said.

The gang had metal canisters strapped to their chests and two were reportedly shot dead by armed police. A search is underway for the three other men. One man has been arrested on Borough High Street.

One could add, again and again.

Meanwhile from Banksy:

In other news, Banky offers Bristol electors free prints of his work if they vote non-Tory – i.e. for parties that REALLY won’t do anything about terrorism.

Very early, and most of these reports unconfirmed, but something substantial is clearly afoot along the south bank of the Thames.
