Rita Panahi has argued┬áin “The Herald Sun” that the inconveniences of increased security are the price worth paying for preventing terrorist attacks. There are always arguments about the balance between security and liberty, and you can agree or argue with a broad spectrum of view on this topic. But Bongiorno, of Italian extraction himself – and presumably also because he is an intelligent and educated person – should know better what fascism is and what it isn’t. And maybe also that an Iranian atheist who doesn’t like Islamism isn’t.
