Union head Ged Kearney has sensationally claimed it is a mining giant’s fault that CFMEU protesters are making threats, as it has emerged a young girl has been labelled a “f—ing whore” on social media because her family has refused to strike.
The outrageous attack on children of Glencore workers at Oaky North mine has sparked fresh calls for Labor leaders to stop taking donations from the militant cash cow. While the ACTU president said she did not condone the sickening behaviour, she slapped down questions over whether the CFMEU had a culture problem.“We wouldn’t be in this situation if it wasn’t for Glencore’s behaviour,’’ said Ms Kearney, who also suggested some protesters may not be members of the CFMEU.The Courier-Mail revealed workers who refused to go on strike at the mine were being threatened with violence.Extracts from security excerpts, which could be used in legal action, shocked politicians and ordinary Australians when one protester claimed he would “f—ing rape your kids c—”.
That’s right, devil made them do it.
It’s such a typical excuse, isn’t it? Like Harvey Weinstein’s rationale for his decades’ long history of sexual harassment: “I came of age in the 60′s and 70′s, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different. That was the culture then.” Or CNN explaining antifa rioting by Trump’s “angry, divisive” rhetoric. It’s always someone else’s or something else’s fault.
We were provoked! “We wouldn’t be in this situation if it wasn’t for Glencore’s behaviour.’’ It’s the mining company’s fault that our members are threatening to rape children!
OK, listen, you’re scumbags. The circumstances aren’t making you do anything, they’re just exposing in the cold hard light of day the fact that you are scumbags. Normal, decent people don’t violently riot in the streets, don’t sexually harass women, don’t threaten other people’s children with sexual violence. Even if they are angry or frustrated. They just don’t. Thugs and bullies do, because, well, that’s just how they are and that’s how they do things.
My own run-in with the CFMEU member last year has been quite mild, by comparison – he only threatened to “f*** me up”.
It has also been quite mild compared to another recorded CFMEU tirade – “I know your phone number. I know where you live c***.”
But hey, there is no problem with a culture of abuse, thuggery, violence and intimidation. Not at all. It’s Glencore, or a Safety Adviser at a construction site – or me, for that matter – which is turning those mild, meek, polite, God-fearing CFMEU fellows into animals.
And the trade union movement and the Labor Party are continuing to excuse and normalise this sort of behaviour. Because it’s this war and the lying son-of-a-bitch Johnson.
