QUOTE OF THE DAY – Not original, I’m sure, but the ex-Democrat, fine actor, and a solid citizen James Woods continues to deliver:

It’s not just their conspicuous compassion or white/post-colonial guilt, it’s also rank opportunism that make the left big fans of mass immigration, particularly from the developing world; why try to persuade the existing voters when you can import new ones? As Bertolt Brecht wrote in a somewhat different context, “the people / Had forfeited the confidence of the government / And could win it back only / By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier / In that case for the government / To dissolve the people / And elect another?”

And so they have been.

This is also why, whenever there comes a group of immigrants that is hostile to the left, suddenly and strangely their arrival is not welcome by the left – see the Cubans in America, or in Australia recall Labor Prime Minister Gough Whitlam’s famous expression of multicultural spirit: “I’m not having hundreds of fucking Vietnamese Balts coming into this country with their religious and political hatreds against us!” The left’s perfect migrant is poor, uneducated, and with different values – a great cannon fodder for the statists politics of envy, resentment and self-loathing.
