Bruening, who looks 12, is not some random who got lucky, but an opinion writer on the staff of the “WaPo”. On Twitter she describes herself as “Christian. Mama.” which means she must be older than 12. She also claims “Gave up Twitter for Lent, will be back.” Guess what? It was a lie. That’s what socialists do; they lie.

Having experienced socialism myself and sought a better life elsewhere, I’m always touched when Millennials suggest I give it another go.

So – “It’s time to give socialism a try”. The acceptable and understandable responses are:

– What, again?

– If only there were some historical experiences that could tell us if it’s a good idea…

– Oh, what’s changed since the last time it didn’t work?

– “Democracy dies in darkness”. And in socialism, too.

– Ladies first

To be fair to Bruenig, she does write:

Not to be confused for a totalitarian nostalgist, I would support a kind of socialism that would be democratic and aimed primarily at decommodifying labor, reducing the vast inequality brought about by capitalism, and breaking capital’s stranglehold over politics and culture.

She doesn’t just want a unicorn, she wants a five legged one, too.

P.S. This time in real fairness to Bruenig, she is prepared to go to right wing venues like Liberty Con and Acton University and debate in favour of socialism with capitalists – and apparently enjoys it. Though, on the other hand, this is far safer than doing it the other way around.
